A UI/UX Design job in Houston, Texas is available through Modis. No C2C, no sponsorships, local candidates only. This is a long term contract position and requires 5+ years of UI/UX Design experience. The position is a hybrid position with a mix of remote and on-site work.


  • Working with the Marketing team to provide recommendations and guidance on user experience designWorking with developers on an array of projects based on clients needs.
  • Design, plan, advocate, and manage the end user experience.
  • Utilize design software tools to make interactive, clickable wireframes for clients. 
  • Lead Marketing and Development UI/UX efforts to meet customized client facing deliverables. 
  • Interface with clients. 
  • Drive the implementation of products by providing solutions based on user and client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, and platforms.
  • Must Haves

  • 5+ years of experience (flexible) as a UX Designer with experience designing complex web applications
  • Strong knowledge of UX design, information architecture, interaction design, and website development methodology
  • Proven UX design experience in technical software products
  • Proficient in key design software tools -. i.e. Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop, InVision and Abstract
  • Experience with sketching, concept creation, wireframes, user flows, clickable prototype
  • Strong expertise in design tools i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, InVision, etc and prototyping skills with tools such as Axure, Muse, or Balsamiq .
  • “Concept to Release” experience designing enterprise applications with technical users as well as customer facing projects; Comfortable with blank-slate initiatives as well as on-going established projects.
  • Experience designing in a variety of form factors, i.e. desktop, responsive web, and mobile platforms
  • Solid understanding of how the user-centered design process drives design thinking and implementation.
  • Innovative data visualization skills.
  • Experience developing and executing on a UX research and usability testing roadmap with a clear understanding of usability heuristics.
  • Interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills; able to effectively communicate designs, ideas, and concepts to team, IT & Business partners, and influence key stakeholders.
  • Experience in both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
  • Experience in mobile applications is a big plus.
  • Experience in the retail energy industry is a plus.
