Position Specific Description

Power Wizard is a new type of energy management company for residential customers. We believe that everyone should be able to make energy decisions with confidence. Our mission is to provide the tools, information, and products to help residential consumers make informed energy decisions. 

We are seeking experienced content/copywriters to join our content team.  Energy options and choices for consumers are getting more complicated as consumers are considering energy choice, renewables, remote generation, and carbon neutral. Our copywriters will develop the content to assist customers on this journey.

Position Specific Description

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Writing engaging content focused on educating and guiding the consumer on their energy journey, driving behavioral change, and enabling a motivated, focused mindset.
  • Writing the content in the selected design pattern: short-form, long-form, and interactive—average word count of 1,500 per day.
  • Testing engagement and interaction with content by different customer characteristics to tailor the content to the individual customer.
  • Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the content's online visibility in search results.

Key qualifications are:

  • 5+ years of experience writing content (short and long-form content) in a B2C environment.
  • Experience in writing content to educate and motivate consumers.
  • You will write in a fresh, modern tone of voice: the content must be engaging, injecting some humor at times. We do not want dry articles on generic energy topics. You should have the ability to make energy topics understandable to non-technical audiences.
  • Creativity and innovativeness: this is not your standard website landing page copy.
  • You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with English grammar and syntax expertise and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven record of excellent writing demonstrated in a professional portfolio.
