Job Summary:

The Software Quality Automation Engineer will develop test automation suites to support web applications within the Innovation Team and will report to the Software Quality Automation Manager. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and executing automated test solutions that complement our existing test suite and leverage industry standard test automation platforms. The candidate must have a strong proficiency with modern testing automation platforms targeting web, API, and mobile applications.

The role will work closely with product owners, software developers, UI/UX designers, and project managers to drive development of test automation suites for unit, user acceptance, performance, and automated regression testing from development through production.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Identify, design, code, and execute automation scripts to enhance the quality automation process
  • Perform multi-faceted testing such as unit, integration, functional, regression, and performance
  • Create, extend, and maintain test automation libraries and frameworks
  • Provide test automation estimates and timelines for assigned projects
  • Create and maintain data sets to be used in test automation activities
  • Incorporate test automation into the CI/CD process
  • Communicate and report on the statuses of test automation activities

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to author and update test cases
  • Working knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript, APIs, and SQL databases
  • Building required testing frameworks and/or expanding/improving existing automation frameworks
  • Executing end-to-end test automation for UI and backend components
  • Ability to build and to maintain automation frameworks supporting CI/CD pipelines
  • Working with cloud platforms and associated technologies for AWS and/or Azure
  • Ability to work with developer tools such as JIRA, Git, and/or Azure DevOps

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in software development, quality assurance, and/or management information systems
  • 2+ years of experience planning and executing tests for large, complex applications
  • 2+ years of test automation development experience utilizing TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Experience with various automated testing methodologies
  • At least 1 year experience in a test automation framework such as Selenium, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Jest, Puppeteer, and/or Playwright
  • Experience in agile software development

Physical Requirements:

  • This is a full-time position with standard daytime working hours
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability and accessibility to work remotely or in the office as required
