Description

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager for this full time remote role based of Houston, Texas.
Salary is in the $170,000 range.

Summary
The Software Development Manager is an integral member of Software Development Department. The Manager oversees the software development teams and all software development functions; works closely with the CIO and other technology and product leaders to design, develop, implement and manage software applications for internal and external use. The Manager will be accountable for communicating with technology customers (such as product team members, business owners, subject matter experts, external customers, and the executive team) to represent the development department; establishing and maintaining accurate records and documentation of information technology policies, procedures and standards. The Manager must solve business problems, improve the development department capabilities, and align the development strategy to meet the evolving business needs and objectives. The Manager will be expected to follow budget guidelines and ensure funds are being used effectively and expenses are recorded timely and accurately. 
 
Duties

  • Oversee all activities of the full software development life cycle
  • Supervise, train, teach, coach and mentor team members
  • Regularly update stakeholders with project details and timelines
  • Oversee multiple simultaneous IT projects and deployments
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Oversee escalated technical support to end users during regular business hours and after hours as needed
  • Stay up to date with industry best-practices and knowledge of relevant technologies to maintain, support and improve company software, systems, and processes
  • Assist with security compliance measures, audits, and documentation 

Qualfications

  • 7 years of experience of managing software development projects (full software development life cycle)
  • Previous management experience
  • Experience in Microsoft .NET and SQL Server
  • Microsoft Azure Experience
  • SaaS software development experience
  • Formal management training preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
