Responsibilities

Education Practice Area

  • PCGs Education Consulting service line focuses on highly complex and innovative state-level and district-level curriculum development and e-learning projects across several content areas and grade bands

  • PCGs Education Consulting service line seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager for a highly complex and exciting state-level curriculum development project across several content areas and grade bands

  • The Senior Project Manager will collaborate with project staff to develop and implement management structures and controls that facilitate successful project delivery

  • They will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to establish the project schedule and controls to ensure that the project stays within schedule and on budget

  • They will oversee curriculum development activities and subcontractor deliverables; and regularly engage with the clients project management team

  • The position is remote, with the Austin, Texas location preferred to facilitate onsite client engagement and occasional in-person meetings

Specific Responsibilities

  • Establishes the project-level PMO in alignment with PCGs PMO

  • Establishes and implements communication protocols and processes

  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation

  • Develops and implements risk management process to minimize project risks and issues management to track and bring issues to resolution

  • Provides direction, thought partnership, and support to project team

  • Regularly monitors and reports on progress of the project to all stakeholders, including the presentation of detailed periodic reports defining project progress, risks, financials, and solutions

  • Interfaces regularly with the client team, project subcontractors, and the PCG project steering committee

  • Leads all phases of the project from initiation through implementation and of project

  • Facilitates the delivery of the defined project scope, goals, and deliverables

  • Responsible for overall project quality assurance to ensure efficient and timely delivery of projects and services

  • Implements and manages project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs

  • Responsible for project evaluations and assessment of results

  • Holds teams (within PCG and partner organizations) accountable to agreed upon performance metrics

  • Facilitates required project management activities and deliverables, as required by contract, including annual project kickoff, annual product kickoffs, project workplans by product, monthly program management meetings, monthly budget report and meetings, weekly product management meetings, and quarterly performance metrics reporting

  • Travel as needed ( Facilitate onsite client engagement and with occasional in-person meetings)

  • Availability during regular work week and beyond normal business hours as needed

In collaboration with the PMO:

  • Defines and refines the project work breakdown structure, tasks, and resource requirements

  • Develops and maintains project work plans with baselines and earned value reporting to monitor and track progress

  • Onboards and coordinates select project staff

  • Manages project resource allocation in collaboration with relevant project teams

  • Plans and schedules project timelines in collaboration with relevant project teams

  • Tracks project deliverables using appropriate tools

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • PMP certification

  • 5+ years of experience in a project management capacity, with preference for the management of adaptive, iterative project management approaches and for the management of non-IT projects

  • Demonstrated application of project management practices, including people management, strategic planning, risk management, and change management

  • Experience in leading projects in a public education setting or in an organization that focuses on public education

  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Office products, particularly PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Word

  • Proficient with Office 365 and the Google Suite

  • Able to work with a diverse range of people
