Accountabilities:

  • Structures, drafts, negotiates and facilitates commercial and industrial customer gas and electricity supply contracts, NASEBs, and other legal documents related to our downstream (retail) commercial and industrial business.
  • Negotiate EEIs, NAESBs and ISDAs.
  • Provide support and counsel to all functional teams within the C&I business.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the Company’s North American operations.
  • Advise internal clients on complex business issues, compliance or risk assessment and work to develop business solutions to eliminate corporate risks.
  • Supervise outside counsel as necessary.

Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment with a high-volume workload.
  • Experience in the energy supply industry or other highly regulated industries.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly to assist a non-legal audience in understanding complex legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent risk assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear understanding and adherence to ethical principles, company values, code of conduct and policies.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload

Education:

  • JD degree from ABA accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in PA, NJ, TX or another state

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of legal experience in a corporation or law firm
  • Proven track record of working in a fast paced/high stress environment
  • Certifications:
  • JD degree from ABA accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in PA, NJ, TX or another state

Work Environment:

  • Open office environment.
  • Travel Requirements:
  • Approximately 10% travel
