System One is currently seeking a Senior Applied Process Technology Engineer on a direct hire position located in Houston, TX.

Senior Applied Process Technology Engineer Responsibilities:

  • This a senior level technical specialist role within PFT's Wellstream Processing business unit
  • This role is best matched for an experienced senior level technical specialist (process engineer) with high level of experience in engineered-to-order process separation technologies
  • Technical specialist engineer in assigned discipline, offering deep level of knowledge about key technologies that are aligned with strategic growth initiatives of the business in the assigned regional market(s): electrostatic desalting technologies (Brownfield - US refinery) and process separation technologies (Brownfield - US offshore)
  • Function Dimension Responsibilities:
  • Have specialist knowledge in the assigned discipline(s), and be committed to continuous learning of the targeted subject areas
  • Together with PLMs and APT Directors develop/improve products and solutions according to local market needs and opportunities
  • Support BD&S team members in client meetings/communications as required
  • Together with Tender make competitive commercial technical offers with technology which is fit for purpose and not taking unacceptable level of risk to the company
  • Provide time efficient and quality response to clients and P&L centers in commercial projects
  • Provide time efficient and quality response to technology development projects
  • Execute feasibility studies / conceptual design / process studies or input to these for assigned discipline.
  • Acknowledge shortcomings and discrepancies in work processes and provide recommendations for improvement as part of no fault commitment to continuous improvement of the business
  • Strong knowledge of competitor technology and/or execution approach for assigned technology
  • Strong knowledge on industry standards for assigned discipline
  • Execute technology strategy in collaboration with Regional Director and supporting APT Director(s)
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and development of training for others (organized and ad-hoc)
  • Work closely with peers to reach the common goals of the company, CAPS, PFT, and WSP
  • Meet goals of the regional organization but not at the expense or compromise of the over abiding goals
  • Be an example of technical excellence, moral standards, and ethical practices

Methods of Work:

  • Lead and/or collaborate with internal and external individuals and teams in the global operations
  • Ensure that relevant working methods are followed and if relevant in a way to reduce impact on environment, health, safety
  • Ensure tasks performed are to the highest quality, be involved in and suggest improvements where they may be needed to support continuous improvement
  • Ensure processes are performed in compliance with internal and external requirements, defined and documented, continually measured, evaluated, improved and concreted
  • Carry out the given tasks in accordance to relevant policies, execution models, procedures etc, and using common tools and systems

Senior Applied Process Technology Engineer Requirements:

  • Master of Applied Science/Engineering (minimum), or similar
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred)
  • 7+ years relevant industry experience, including tendering and project execution/fabrication
  • Deep knowledge of technology, commercial aspects, market and competitors
  • Experience in equipment sizing, problem solving, knowledge of Desalters (piece of equipment in refineries) and/or Electrostatics
  • Excellent team-builder, including others in bringing assigned technology forward, sharing wins, talking "we" instead of "I"
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Working with the tender team and application engineers to devise solutions using experience and/or precedent to create unique selling propositions
  • Ensure the tender is cost appropriate, and developed in the most attractive manner for client
  • Engage in communication directly with clients, participate in tender negotiations based on approved mandate
