The Role: Product Management & Business Lead- Upstream Solutions North American Content

The Team: As part of S&P Global Commodity Insights division, the Upstream North American Content Business includes a team of product experts across Content/Data, Data Delivery, and Data Platform portfolios. This team of experts partner closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and executives to drive the strategic vision, and delivery of exceptional products in this high revenue generating portfolio. As business lead, you are responsible for understanding client workflow requirements, market needs and the competitive landscape to define the product vision, roadmap, and delivery requirements for the data portfolios.

The Impact: This position plays a critical role in supporting the revenue growth of the Upstream Solutions business by developing offerings that address key client workflows across market segments, customer personas, content streams and delivery methods including Energy Studio Discover & Impact, Enerdeq, Land Studio, API's, Cloud, and Software solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team of experts that includes product management, global data delivery, technical services, and data integration.

  • Assesses current and emerging market/client needs andcompetitivepositioning to definea differentiated,innovative, forward-looking vision for portfolio

  • Works closely with clients, commercial, operations, and the GGE software product management organizations to definecustomer workflows,translateworkflows into product development and delivery requirements and create a product roadmap tosupport current and emerging market needs

  • Conducts customer interviews and monitors customer usage across all primary delivery methods to identify support requirements and help prioritize product development/enhancement opportunities

  • Organizes and leads strategy and design sessions with business stakeholders, operations, sales, delivery and development to share customer feedback, review usage and competitive analysis, discuss and prioritize requirements, and refine the product vision and roadmap

  • Works with operations/content SMEs, business leads and commercial leads to identify and prioritize product evolution opportunities through buy, build or partner strategies to: build innovated data platforms, ingest/integrate new content, develop/create new content (i.e. derivative data), or expand coverage

  • Creates investment business cases for management approval and develops and executes go-to-market plans for new products or product enhancements

  • Identifies operations, delivery and commercial dependencies that impact the product roadmap. Frequently updates and reviews the product roadmap with all key stakeholders to ensure dependencies are understood and priorities are clearly communicated

  • Works with the Upstream Commercial team to assess andrecommendproduct packaging, commercialand pricingstrategies tomaximizevalue realization across customer segments

What Were Looking For:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a client facing B2B product management and/or commercial role

  • Bachelors Degree in an Engineering, Geoscience or Technology related field; MBA or master's degree preferred

  • Experience in upstream oil and gas with a deep understanding of the E&P lifecycle

  • Project management experience preferred

  • Excellent time management, analytical and problem-solving skills required

  • Strong written and verbal communications with an aptitude for presenting thoughts and ideas to all levels ofinternal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to articulate product positioning to both a business executive and technical audience

  • Sales and business development experience with oil and gas data products beneficial

  • Ability to work effectively with business and technical team product members and to foster team collaboration with office-based and remote colleagues

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment to identify and understand dependencies and communicate the impact on product priorities across the business

  • Stays current with rapidly changing industry technology trends and client needs

The Location: Houston, TX

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $152,600 to $ 303,575. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
