Support attorneys in EOG Legal Department in overall administrative matters related to Department functions, with a specific emphasis on litigation and compliance mattersJob Duties

  • Assist in preparation of quarterly, annual and other reports supporting litigation and compliance
  • Work as a team player with other department assistants and paralegals to maintain databases
  • Prepare, format and stylize PowerPoint presentations to assist in internal and external reporting on Legal matters based on input from department attorneys
  • Process invoices 
  • Perform varied, complex, and highly confidential legal and corporate work
  • Acknowledge correspondence, initiate inquiries, secure information, review, analyze and summarize documents and information
  • Prepare correspondence, reports and spreadsheets based on input from Legal Department attorneys
  • Review drafts of correspondence, internal and external presentations, pleadings, contracts and other documents for accuracy, summarizing variances for evaluation by attorneys
  • Organize, categorize, index, and maintain documents, materials, and files as necessary
  • Sort and distribute mail, handle deliveries, and perform other administrative duties
  • Coordinate the collection and organization of Company and third-party documents and information in connection with business transactions, litigation, regulatory and compliance\ matters, as well as monitor and communicate critical dates
  • Assist in coordination of all litigation matters with the Senior Litigation Paralegal to ensure compliance with internal controls and consistency in handling of overall management of disputes, discovery, subpoenas and other similar matters
  • Ensure compliance with litigation and regulatory deadlines
  • Coordinate meetings, schedules and travel arrangements
  • Oversee Compliance training recordkeeping and reporting
  • Provide other legal and administrative support as required including matters related to Legal Department SharePoint site and other computer software programs supporting the overall department function 
  • Be creative in developing efficiencies within the department
  • Be resourceful in accomplishing work tasks and obtaining needed information
  • Acquire a basic understanding of EOG's business, including proficiency in the functions of the department

Basic Qualifications

  • 7 years minimum executive/administrative support experience 
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Notary public certification, or willingness to become a Notary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and email
  • Project Management experience

Skills Required 

  • Willingness to learn and support Legal Department SharePoint site and other computer software programs related to the Legal Department function.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to proof-read, review and revise executive-level documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility in dealing with changing work assignments and priorities
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information
  • Strong interpersonal skills:  interacts with others in a courteous, helpful and professional manner, a team player who works effectively with others at all levels and in all disciplines in a team environment and is able to maintain a sense of camaraderie in working with others
  • Experience coordinating training, meetings, schedules and travel arrangements

Preferred experience or Knowledge

  • Law firm or legal experience helpful
  • Oil and gas experience
  • Proficiency in MS Teams
  • Ability to work with varied software applications, internally developed EOG software

Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
