Looking for an individual to lead our organization in all areas of Transportation Safety. The ideal candidate will possess the qualities, skills and experience required to apply and improve current safety systems and procedures, and will be able to work with the various departments and DOT Drivers within the organization to improve our performance as it relates to safety and safety culture. The Corporate Transportation Safety and Compliance Manager will play a most crucial role in the implementation, certification, and upkeep of the Responsible CareĀ® Management System at CBSL Transportation Services.

Job Requirements:

  • Provide oversight, leadership, and have responsibility for all aspects of Safety as it relates to Non-Hazardous and Hazardous Materials Transportation and DOT Regulations.

  • Develop and foster positive relationships with drivers and assist the organization in the resolution of issues that may arise

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety related to the Transportation Operations of CBSL. This includes compliance with all DOT recordkeeping requirements.

  • Responsible for driving continuous environmental, health, safety, and security improvement through the implementation, certification, and application of the Responsible CareĀ® Management System.

  • Develops and communicates policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines and to ensure best practices for the overall safety and health of the DOT employees, DOT Drivers, and Stakeholders.

  • Identify company safety training needs related to DOT sanctioned operations and develop and coordinate safety training programs

  • Provide and/or coordinate safety training for all new DOT employees/ DOT Drivers and refresher training for existing DOT employees and DOT Drivers.

  • Provide consultative guidance and information to Leadership Teams on DOT-EHS performance, priorities, risks, costs, major issues/concerns and interpretation of regulatory requirements.

  • Must be able to drive cultural change in EHS by encouraging, motivating, and demanding participation in the CBSL Safety Program

  • Oversee safety related technical systems such as Electronic Log Systems, In-Cab Camera systems, and other relevant technologies/systems that assist the organization in meeting safety and compliance goals.

  • Manage and implement safety violation guidelines and award programs.

  • Work with management to eliminate all hazardous practices performed by employees and DOT Drivers.

  • Serves as a liaison between owner/operators/drivers and CBSL Transportation Services including orienting new drivers to company policy and resolving grievances.

  • Conduct performance reviews to ensure that each driving associate is performing to their highest safety potential
