Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Assistant Site Managers for projects located in the Cement City, MI area . This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is based on experience and skill level with $100/day per diem for Travelers 60+ miles from the job-site. Job Scope:

  • Coordinate with the design engineering team and act as a liaison during design, permitting, construction, and close-out activities
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the project team
  • Support the Senior Project Manager and Site Manager in coordinating construction activities and schedules with field operations and subcontractors to meet production targets, phasing, staging and logistics needs
  • Act as a central resource for technical knowledge on the project
  • Ensure the safety and quality of the delivered projects in compliance with contract documents and standards
  • Create, submit, manage and review RFI’s and submittals for both the client and subcontractors, coordinate responses with the engineering team as appropriate for the issues
  • Participate in design reviews, lessons learned, cost analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Review, process and support the negotiations of change orders
  • Assist the project manager and site manager in the creation and updates to the project schedule
  • Assist the project manager and site manager in the creation and updates to the project budget
  • Create, maintain, review, and distribute as-built drawings and closeout documents
  • Support quality and safety monitoring of the field work, including coordination of inspections to meet AHJ, client and Borrego requirements
  • Act as the primary source of feedback and lessons learned for design engineering
  • Track and update project team on engineering changes, quantities installed, and permits
  • Provide and support document control including communication of changes, red lines, installation job books and turnover package
  • Attend project meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • At least 5 year's experience in solar and/or commercial construction
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical, Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering; or undergraduate degree in Construction Management or Construction Engineering
  • Good understanding of electrical, structural, and civil construction processes and requirements
  • Excellent computer skills, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
  • Technical understanding of working with utilities and AHJs
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Must be willing to relocate to the project site for the duration of each construction project they are assigned
  • Must have OSHA 10 or 30 certification; we can provide training for qualified candidates
  • Knowledge of CAD software
  • Experience with Procore and other project management software including Bluebeam, Salesforce, and Box
