Role Summary\:

A Technical Software Architect is required to join a team of industry experts in developing commercial software applications for remote control and monitoring of artificial lift wells. The role requires deep expertise in .NET framework, Data Access, Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), Docker/Linux environment, Web API and associated hosting and security protocols. The successful candidate will be responsible for coding, testing, quality assurance, and compilation of the code, and its successful deployment using DevOps methodology. The candidate will be responsible for managing the product life cycle of certain modules of the software. The role offers a high degree of autonomy and influence in technical choices and overall product architecture.

Essential Responsibilities\:

  • Development of commercial software product, including coding, testing, compiling, installation and licensing
  • Lead the development of a prototype of Edge analytics platform for wellsite controller
  • Represent BHGE in technical forums and customer engagements


  • Degree in engineering. Computer Science preferred.
  • 10 years of C# computer programming experience
  • 5 years of oilfield controller communications and or SCADA/Historian experience ¬†
  • 3 hands on time series data processing experience
  • Proven history of mathematical coding using libraries such as Math.Net Numerics
  • Understanding of .NET OSI PI, Modbus, MQTT, OPC-DA and HDA libraries/protocols
  • Proficient in .NET multi-threading and Async programming
  • Expert in Server side Windows WCF (both TCP and Web API) end points and hosting
  • Expert in Windows Forms Desktop coding and application installation techniques
  • Expert with VSTS online build, pipeline and artifact management
  • Prior experience with WiX and or WiXSharp installer for .NET
  • Familiar with SQLite

Desired Characteristics\:

  • Past experience leading a commercial software development team
  • Broad understanding of oil well production and artificial lift systems
  • Certifications/Courses in commercial SCADA/Historian and or OPC technologies
  • .NET Core Docker Deployment on Linux ARM32
  • ¬†Xamarin Development Experience
  • Any experience with product auto-update libraries for windows desktop applications
