As a member of the technical staff the Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design of new electronic products up to full production. This includes specification reviews, development program timelines and reports, design reviews, simple mechanical designs, documentation packages, pre-production builds and transfer to production. In this role, you will be actively involved in engineering projects to develop cutting edge technology that serves a broad portfolio of applications. The Sr. Electrical Engineer reports directly to the Measurement Lead, and indirectly to the Director of Drilling.
Responsibilities: Responsible for develop every aspect of the electronics for downhole ranging from the high sensitivity sensors to the system's firmware, and from the actuators, controls and power supply to the signal digitalization. Utilizing your knowledge and experience of developing, detail-engineering and testing comparable tools and systems. Document technical data generated and be consistent with engineering policies and procedure. Confer with Engineers, Customers, and others to discuss existing or potential Engineering projects and products. Design, implement, maintain and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products and systems for commercial purpose. Direct and coordinate testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and customer requirements. Function as an independent resource and technical support contact when appropriate. Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment. Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Writes manufacture and test procedures and reports. Participates in project teams and all activities related to the development of new products.

Excellent ‘hands-on’ electrical engineering skills including proficiency with testing equipment. Team player and self-starter with the ability to operate without detailed work direction. Hands on electronics prototype design and testing. Analog, digital and mixed circuit design. 10+ years experience with downhole tool electronics design, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and troubleshooting. Firmware design, FPGA designs experience. Ability to work well as part of a design team, and able to work independently when required. Qualifications: Master’s degree in electrical engineering, physics or related field, minimum of ten years of hands on experience in downhole tool electronics, electronics design including component selection, schematics, and PCB layout.
