The instrumentation assembler is responsible to assemble custom equipment to support the global manufacturing capabilities of the company.
Your role: Assemble electro-mechanical equipment following written instructions. Mark up written instructions with changes. Maintain a safe and organized workspace.
You should be able to:
Create assemblies and subassemblies following documentation without rework
Escalate issues (missing components, documentation errors, mistakes) quickly and clearly
Test assemblies following written guidance
Package assemblies for international shipment
You can differentiate yourself by:
Marking up drawings or providing additional written instructions for future assemblers to follow
Suggest improvements to the equipment to make the process more streamlined in the future
Who you are: You are a tinkerer. You take things apart and put them back together again better than they were before. You have honed that skill of disassembly/reassembly into an in-depth, working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. You can follow a written procedure and record actions but are able to think broadly and independently to carefully consider means to achieve defined goals around instrument assembly.
• High school diploma or GED, Associates degree or trade school completion in technical field preferred
• Minimum 1 year working with electromechanical assemblies, preferably in the pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or biologics industries.
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Experience troubleshooting electrical equipment
• Ability to interpret technical drawings
• Familiarity with basic instrumentation components
• Understands mechanical and electrical safety principles and hazardous energy sources
• Follows all safety procedures and protocols to ensure the safety of yourself, your teammates, those around you, and the integrity of the processes you support
• Can lift 50 lb.
• Can work in tight spaces within instrumentation (hands and arms only)
