Pillsbury’s Houston office seeks a legal secretary to provide high-level support to the Insolvency & Restructuring Practice Section. Attorneys focus on complex restructuring, Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and commercial litigation.
Responsibilities include: Chapter 11 bankruptcy and litigation experience to prepare and edit legal documents and handle eFilings with proficiency. Prepare and organize materials for hearings. Possess excellent organizational and time management skills for document management and heavy calendaring. Open new matters, process client bills, and submit expense reports. Communicate with clients and other parties with poise and professionalism. Be proactive and resourceful to help identify potential issues and ensure the attorneys are well-prepared to provide unmatched client service. Be a contributing team member who can efficiently manage multiple projects and deadlines. Other administrative duties as assigned.
Chapter 11 bankruptcy, insolvency & structuring, and litigation secretarial/paralegal background required. Successful candidate will have 5 years’ minimum experience handling complex litigation and restructuring and Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters, ideally representing debtors. Must work well in a challenging, fast-paced environment and respond to priorities with a calm demeanor and positive mindset. Acute attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills necessary. Strong verbal and written communication skills essential. Candidate must be team oriented, have a strong work ethic, and provide the highest level of client service. Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate required. Advanced-level computer skills required. Large law firm experience preferred. Position will begin the role working remotely and eventually work in the Houston office once restrictions are lifted.
