AS A LEAD SENIOR ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
Apply technical expertise, commensurate with extensive training and job experience, in the development of products and processes.
Develop alternative technologies, unique concepts and novel approaches with high levels of originality.
Make decisions related to the development of new technology and application of technical solutions with high levels of technical risk.
Manage and leads complex design efforts of new products or significant redesign efforts.
Provide technical leadership for multiple products.
Ensure high standards of engineering rigor are applied to technical decision making.
Promote an innovative engineering environment.
Maintain continuing contacts with manufacturing, purchasing, marketing, vendors, and customers on technical matters.
Frequently get assigned to a project leadership role for projects requiring coordination of numerous activities.
Make engineering decisions to resolve technical issues.
Effectively communicates project status issues.
Prepare detailed multi-year plans including resources, costs, and schedule necessary to complete assignments.
Plan and organizes activities necessary to execute work assignments. Initiates and leads projects through the design process.
Assure products are tested to Rosemount quality requirements.
Assure that product documentation meets quality requirements. Is a key contributor in engineering leadership activities, including new product development process improvements, hiring and retention of engineers, training, improving engineering tools, promoting innovation, and setting priorities. Involved in and/or leads numerous design, product, and process review activities.
Understand regulatory requirements which affect design and manufacture of product.
WHO YOU ARE:
You will provide technical leadership in the development of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA’s) in Rosemount’s Gas Chromatographs to meet quality, performance, cost, and schedule objectives.
You will personally design, test, and ensure production integration of complex analog and digital circuit designs. You will improve our processes in PCBA design and project execution.
You will frequently lead electrical design projects requiring coordination of engineers in Houston, India, and Minnesota. You will mentor these engineers to increase team capabilities and ensure project deliverables are met.
You will explore alternative technologies and approaches to optimize the electrical designs used in our products.
You will support our customers as well as manufacturing, purchasing, and marketing groups to ensure design projects are successful and needs are met.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
Six years of experience in an engineering environment
Experience designing complex analog and digital PCBA‘s based in the industrial market.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience designing high reliability PCBA’s applied in harsh environmental conditions.
Experience leading an electrical design team or project.
Experience in testing PCBA designs both on the bench (ideally using National Instruments LabVIEW’s tools) and in product.
Experience in analytical gas analysis equipment.
Experience in electro-mechanical designs and components.
Experience using the Linux development environment.
