Responsible for washing, ironing, folding and distributing all soiled linens, towels, napkins and tablecloths while being team oriented and dedicated to providing attentive, courteous, efficient excellent service to all guests and ensuring Blossom’s cleanliness standards are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive, Separate, Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, rags, etc.
Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts
Sort all hotel linen according to type, color, size, etc
Pre-treat or soak all stained linen before washing.
Understand operation of washing machines and dryers.
Load washers according to the instructions. Know load limits and prepare proper concentration of cleaning chemical.
Set aside unusable linen in the appropriate discard area.
Do not discard any linen until it is logged and passed by the Director of Housekeeping
Sort clean laundry according to type and load carts
Operate iron as per standard and ensure that it is shut off at the end of day.
Fold towels and linens.
Never allow clean linen to sit on floor
Clean dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment as trained.
Sweep and mop laundry floors, storing all linens off the floor and maintaining the room organized and clean.
Clean behind and above dryers on a weekly basis
Clean lint filters in dryers at least once a day, or more as needed.
Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris.
Report any maintenance repairs immediately to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
Handle items for “Lost and Found” according to the standards. You are accountable for the guest’s belongings left in the room. Any found items must be turned in immediately to the Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Supervisor.
Be aware of any suspicious activities or persons. Report such activity immediately to your supervisor or the General Manager.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Return keys left behind by guests to the Executive housekeeper or Housekeeping Supervisor.
Follow all departmental rules and procedures in doing your job.
Maintain assigned equipment.
Empty vacuum bags, check belts, etc. Report any problems with your equipment to your supervisor or maintenance immediately.
Be aware of and follow all safety rules and use caution in doing the job.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Blossom Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
Comply with Blossom Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
Ability to stand during entire shift.
Exerting up to 75 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50-75 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
