Insurance Paralegal Role:
The Insurance Paralegal plays a crucial role performing various legal duties in support of the Insurance team. Daily duties would include:
Organize and maintain case files through lifetime of file/case all the way from inception to completion
Conduct investigations and interviews to identify key parties, related issues, and relevant
documents for the preparation of discovery
Assist in the preparation of answers to interrogatories and responses to requests for production of
Coordinate depositions of parties requested by attorneys
Coordinate court hearings, attorney calendars, and case deadlines to ensure smooth and efficient workflow
Summarize and organize depositions, records, medical records, and testimony.
Assist w/ e-filing in state and federal courts
Assist with all aspects of case litigation and trial preparation
Verify case citations in briefs for current validity and accuracy
Additional projects as directed by management.
Insurance Paralegal Background Profile:
High School diploma or equivalent is required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred
3-5 years of previous litigation experience
Previous experience working in a legal Insurance group is required
Extremely proficient with MS Office, document management systems, and litigation support software
An organized and professional support who is capable of self-direction and working independently
Enjoys working in a support position, in conjunction with additional support staff, for an overall efficient and effective workflow
Comfortable working with multiple deadlines
