Human Resources Assistant Role:
In this role you will report to the HR Manager and perform a variety of Human Resources administrative duties relating to personnel functions and programs including in the areas of recruitment, onboarding, personnel file maintenance, and company functions.
Establish electronic new hire files and maintains existing personnel files. Creates medical file.
Completes I-9’s and updates/reviews I-9 documents regularly for expired documentation and disposal dates.
Consolidates, electronic files, and dispose of terminated personnel files properly and timely according to government regulations.
Works with Corporate Recruiter and Hiring Managers to ensure proper flow of onboarding & off-boarding processes, including accuracy and complete information, and needed supporting documentation. Submits to HR Manager, Payroll Coordinator, and IT Manager.
Coordinates, plans and conducts new employee orientations and trainings.
Completes monthly birthday and anniversary cards to be mailed to team members.
Updates and maintains the SharePoint sites for both HR departmental and HR Communications Page with user access and document management.
Assist with various projects as needed.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource information.
Respond to unemployment claims by working with Department Managers to discern facts of employee termination.
HR Assistant Background Profile:
High school diploma or the equivalent
2+ years related experience in Human Resources and recruitment/talent acquisition
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Great problem-solving skills
MS Office Suite – specifically Word, Excel, Outlook PowerPoint and SharePoint
Experience with Teams Meetings highly preferred
Basic math skills
Ability to learn payroll management, HRIS systems, and similar computer applications
Ability to maintain confidentiality
The ideal candidate must be flexible, able to adapt to change quickly, and a quick learner.
