The opportunity

Our Operational Technology Cyber team, within our Cybersecurity Consulting practice is rapidly growing, including with a focus on key types of critical infrastructure including transportation.

Our Cybersecurity professionals support clients on their most critical initiatives, including helping organizations to better manage cybersecurity people, process and technology capabilities, address shadow IT and manage incidents. Increasingly we support clients making transformative investments in the design and operations of cybersecurity programs and we design measurable and sustainable programs to keep up with the ever-changing cybersecurity landscape.

We are looking for professionals who can independently manage diverse teams to successfully deliver complex, strategic projects and collaborate well with colleagues of all ranks.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Manager for Operational Technology in the Cybersecurity Consulting practice, we expect you to have a strong technical foundation to deliver operational technology cybersecurity program assessments and strategies, design solutions to remediate gaps or enhance maturity of specific cybersecurity capabilities, improve cybersecurity measurements and monitoring, and develop sustainable processes with the combined experience in selling technical solutions through professional services and consulting engagements to address complex problems. You will apply risk management principles to a cybersecurity environment and leverage cybersecurity frameworks / standards like ISO/IEC 27001:2013, NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, etc.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Technical knowledge - Providing subject matter expertise in cybersecurity with enough hands-on work experience to be able to deploy and guide multiple consulting teams concurrently on clients engagements, and preferably the diverse knowledge needed to be able to handle larger engagements that span multiple disciplines related to operational technology and incident management.

  • Service Delivery Management - Effectively handle large teams executing mission critical projects. Responsibilities include managing communications with senior client leaders and delivering services as per contractual agreements. You will also be responsible for continuous improvement of our service delivery templates and work products in your area of expertise by engaging the practice team to review and enhance work products from various engagements.

  • Client Relationship Management - Maintain relationships with key sponsors and executives within client organizations and effectively leverage EY leadership and account teams to integrate other EY service lines to improve value of services delivered to the client.

  • New business development Lead key pursuits and work with account teams to expand business in existing accounts.

  • Practice Development - Provide thought leadership in developing white papers and point-of-views in areas of expertise.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the current security environment, industry trends, technical capabilities and strategies in operational technology cybersecurity, particularly as relates to transportation systems and facilities (e.g. freight rail, passenger rail, transit, airport, roadway, electric charging, etc.).

  • Work closely with senior executives and partners to lead and motivate teams in client engagements

  • Build relationships with client personnel to analyze, evaluate, and enhance information systems to develop and improve security at procedural and governance levels

  • Demonstrate ability to quickly learn new processes and uncover new offerings that may assist current customer base.

  • Provide mentoring and motivate diverse client engagement teams by delivering constructive on-the-job coaching to team members, while fostering an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment.

  • Drive high-quality work within expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure clients are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.

  • Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess what the firm can deliver to serve clients.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelors degree or masters degree

  • About 10+ or more years of experience in one or more of the following:

  • Cybersecurity assessments

  • IT and cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures and controls

  • Security strategies and roadmaps

  • Cybersecurity awareness and training

  • Cybersecurity metrics and reporting

  • Cybersecurity organization design and implementation

  • 5+ years of experience in Operational Technology cybersecurity

  • 5+ years of experience in Transportation sector cybersecurity and relevant transportation operational technology

  • A strong background of the security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001/2, PCI DSS, NIST 800-53 and the cybersecurity laws and regulations such as HIPAA, FISMA and GLBA

  • We would expect for you to be available to travel outside of their assigned office location up to 50% of the time. Successful candidates must work in excess of standard hours when necessary.

  • Because of the unique security requirements of many of our clients, US Citizenship is required.

I deally, youll have

  • Deep relationships and experience with transportation infrastructure owners / CISOs

  • CISSP, CISM, CISA, CIPT, CIPM, CRISC or other relevant certification desired; non-certified hires are required to become certified within 1 year from the date of hire

  • Approximately 2-3 years of recent consulting experience at a large / Big Four consulting firm.

  • Refined executive presentation skills focused on driving business outcomes

  • Experience and demonstratable results in professional services sales including developing and presenting large proposals, writing SOWs for client contracts and having a strong understanding of revenue generation, margin management, and resource levelling for professional services engagements.

  • Experience in dealing with client issues and solving them by drawing up solution scenarios that are supported with cost estimates, timelines, and action plans to resolve the situation.
