S&P Global Commodity Insights is the leading provider of Clean Energy Technology research and insight and is currently looking to recruit a Clean Energy Technology Analyst (one year full-time position) to focus on Carbon capture and removal technologies in Houston to support the expansion of its rapidly growing and successful team. The team is located across various locations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

The individual will be a key contributor to the global Cleantech team supporting the development of the carbon capture and removal technologies research agenda as part of Commodity Insights' Clean Energy Technology services offer. Covering technology trends, project development and financing, business models, specific policy and supply chain analysis. The analyst will have a major role within the Clean Energy Technology team contributing to quantitative analyses and research initiatives and develop written reports .

The successful candidate will be keen to apply strong analytical and communication skills to support the development of Commodity Insights' offer on this area , creating and working with databases and producing high quality in-depth reports to support the critical business decisions of our customers.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, at least 2-3 years of relevant experience and advanced knowledge of the energy industry and of the Carbon capture and removal technologies topic. Prior experience supporting the development of a new product or area is highly valued. This position is currently offered with a fixed term but the contract terms could be extended.   • Collect, manage and support the analysis of market data to track and identify trends, policies, stakeholders, projects, and technology developments in the Carbon capture and removal technologies area and support research of the Clean Energy Technology group within Commodity Insights research.
  • Create high quality quantitative and quality regional and global market reports under the supervision of the Carbon capture and removal technologies research lead, analyzing the status and outlook for technologies, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Work with a global and regional technology team to co-ordinate viewpoints and align data and forecasts.
  • Coordinate with other Commodity Insights groups to develop technology analysis, strategic reports, and project databases.
  • Write and distribute regular research notes that analyze latest news and developments along decarbonization efforts to both clients and press. Support client requests by providing quick and comprehensive answers to questions about research findings.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years of relevant experience of market analysis and quantitative modelling and direct related experience within the Energy industry. Experience in technology cost analysis, business models, and forecasting is strongly valued.
  • Relevant University degree (Bachelors or equivalent). Graduate degree with quantitative experience highly desirable
  • Proficient in English. Other languages are highly valued.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects and product lines.
  • Strong Excel skills and Quantitative modeling skills. Experience with databases is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment working in close alignment with both regional and global teams.
  • Good oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Organization skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contributes to the research agenda

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $48,200 to $100,100 . Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
