What You Will Do:

In this role, the Assistant Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing global strategy, innovation and product lifecycle management for Upstream Solutions related to Production as it pertains to the product lines of Construction, Cementing and completions. This critical role is part of the Global Marketing structure of ChampionX and reports to a global Category Lead for Solutions Management.

The Product Line Marketer will be responsible for developing and executing global strategy, innovation and product lifecycle management for Upstream Solutions related to Production. This critical role is part of the Global Marketing structure of ChampionX and reports to a global Category Lead for Solutions Management.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support sales growth, customer retention and profitability of the product line(s) managed by supporting strategic planning and execution of marketing programs
  • Drive marketing efforts of existing products to internal and external customers
  • Develop short and long-term strategies and plans for demand generation, on-going market research, customer needs assessment, sales and inventory forecasting, and customer and sales history analysis.
  • Execute marketing strategies, programs, and pricing strategies which will meet profit objectives for the business unit.
  • Actively drive Portfolio Management to maintain and grow product line profitability; Product Lifecycle Management duties include optimization of product portfolio, monitoring & communication of product line profitability and lifecycle metrics, evaluation of products for competitive decisions, gatekeeping to minimize product proliferation and supply chain optimization.
  • Lead cross-functional, cross-regional teams to drive global innovation via ideation, project management and commercialization
  • Provide ChampionX salesforce with leadership and marketing support, including sales tools, training, competitive intelligence, and actionable reporting, to support the sales teams response to customer needs
  • Provide competitive intelligence to the field sales teams to counter competitive offers.
  • Develop and maintain global Preferred Product Line digital catalogs by sharing knowledge of technology, profitability, sourcing across global regions.
  • Develop in-depth customer and market knowledge.Communicate market needs and opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 3+ years experience in a technical marketing role
  • 3+ years of strategic and tactical marketing experience
  • SAP experience
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum engineering or other degree
  • Cementing, fracturing, completions or stimulation industry experience
  • 5+ years experience in Marketing
  • MBA
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects
  • Experience managing product lines in a Specialty Chemical Industry, including sizing markets, segmentation, and product line profitability
  • Experience with Specialty Chemicals related to demulsification or surfactants in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Excellent capacity to think strategically and synthesize market, customer, competitive, and business insights into outstanding segment strategies
  • Understanding of differences in regional markets
  • Experience managing and developing profitable product line innovation and leading global deployment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and leadership skills setting vision and strategy, planning, critical thinking, orchestrating cross-functionally, overseeing multiple project elements and proven track record of results
  • Strong track record of executing strategies to delight the customer and significantly outpace the competition
  • Effectively use counselor selling approach (CSP) to obtain and leverage customer (internal and external) feedback to identify needs and evaluate technology fit
  • Build strong internal collaborative relationships to ensure consistent pursuit of business plan attainment
  • Ability to navigate complex matrix organization to include and influence key stakeholders in various functions and regions; strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Business-to-business marketing experience, particularly with highly technical products and service in an industrial setting
  • Must have demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
  • Effective oral and written communication skills both within and outside the business, organizational skills, good attention to detail and use of sound judgment in a fast-paced environment are essential
