Adecco Houston East is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant for a company located in Deer Park TX. This is a temp to hire, long-term opportunity. Ideal candidate must be able to work independently, possess excellent grammatical and editing skills, be detail-oriented and take initiative when necessary. Should demonstrate resourcefulness and a desire to learn. Professional demeanor and intermediate software skills (Word, Excel) are required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering multi-line phone, preparing outgoing courier and overnight packages, coordinate mailings, maintaining files/filing, taking inventory and placing orders, preparing correspondence, and providing overall administrative support. Job duties include:

  • Operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and phone systems, and use computers for spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and other applications
  • Set up and maintain paper and electronic filing systems for records, correspondence, and other material
  • Answer office telephone and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals
  • Locate and attach appropriate files to incoming correspondence requiring replies
  • Greet office visitors and handle their inquiries or direct them to the appropriate person based on their needs
  • Open, read, route, and distribute incoming mail or other materials and answer routine letters
  • Complete forms in accordance with company procedures
  • Review work done by others to check for correct spelling and grammar, ensure that company format policies are followed, and recommend revisions as needed
  • Compose, type, and distribute meeting notes, routine correspondence, and reports
  • Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate a phone switch board
  • Welcoming personality, as this individual will be the face of the company
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to multi task
  • Role will include processing check and credit card payments
  • Closing of truck manifest daily
  • Reconciliation of credit card payments daily
  • Filing and maintaining filing system daily
  • Ability to use a lamination machine
  • Role also includes mail sorting
  • Ability to use basic computer functions (scanner, PC, email, etc.)
  • Pay for this position is $15.00- $23.00/hr. Day Shift: 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM, plus overtime as needed.
